RE: Where to store fishing poles while travelling

With 6 of us there are way too many poles to hang 'em all on the side like that, we bought 2 pole holders spinner things from Bass Pro Shop and put them in there and then put the spinners in beside the bed, then take them out once we get where we are going and put them on the boat. I think they hold like 10 poles each. If each person takes 3 poles then that's 18, so with 2 pole holders we can carry them quite nicely. You know you got to have a cat pole, a bass pole and a bluegill/crappie pole. Right?
I guess we could just cover the outside of the trailer with them. . . hmmmmm, there's a thought . . . wouldn't we be interesting looking?

RE: On Star

It all sounds great, but I'm still a little leary of having a vehicle that can be tracked from anywhere in the US. Guess I'm just the paranoid type.

RE: Is city ordinances common ???

Ok, I'm sorry but if I bought it I can do with it what I want.
Well, if you purchased a residence with covenants and restrictions you should abide by the rules. In our old subdivision you had to have approval to change the color of your house and have landscaping plans approved. All the house colors and landscaping were earth-toned and looked very nice, and the rule was there to keep future owners from painting a house pink with purple trim and decorating the yard with a flock of pink flamingos. :W
And that is exactly why I didn't buy one with covenants or restrictions.

RE: Small Chinese Travel Trailer

They did about a one minute segment on those on RVTV last time I saw it. The host was saying they were showing this model in response to e-mails they had received to show more moderately priced RV's. Guess this was the best they could come up with.
That show really gets me, they show all these Class A's and high end stuff, where is the middle of the road stuff? For real middle of the road, or even the cheap stuff.

RE: Is city ordinances common ???

Ok, I'm sorry but if I bought it I can do with it what I want. I take care of my things and don't leave them rotting out in the front or the back yard. We live in an older subdivision which has no HOA, thank goodness. How does my travel trailer bring down anyone's property values? I think there are to many people worrying about how other people live their lives.

RE: Help settle a bet - How often do you shower?

I bathe every day, sometimes twice or 3 times depending on what I'm doing or if Arthur (you know arthritis) is acting up. I only shower while camping or every other day when we are home to wash my hair. The kids shower every other day but wash up every day both camping and at home. The DH showers every morning while at home, now when we are camping he can go to every other day if it's just him or every day if I'm with him. Course sometimes he skips a day on the weekends. We use ALOT of water!!!

RE: Scissor Jacks Where to buy

Thanks, I guess maybe I don't need to change the stabilizers, I just need to chock the wheels and get some wood. I didn't realize that you level the trailer side to side first, front to back second and then chock and lower the stabilizers. That was not something we ever thought to ask at the dealership, even though we took a camera and recorded the whole walk through. I'm glad we found out that the stabilizers aren't for leveling, thank you all.

RE: TT sat for 8yrs, how to clean mildew from seal areas +?

Here is a pic of the TT at the previous owners place.
Thanks for all the good suggestions. I have found a place that sells the trim/seals cheaper than I thought, so if cleaning does not work I will likely just replace.
THANKS AGAIN,
Lakedawgs
First of all the trailer looks GREAT. I'm excited for you.
Second where did you find the trim/seals? We have sort of the same problem, only ours is only on the front window.

RE: Scissor Jacks Where to buy

NO, do NOT try to lift wheels off the ground. Your frame will NOT take that kind of abuse.
Why are you unhappy with your stabilizers, maybe we can offer some help? If it is movements, is it up and down, front to back, or side to side?
Ok, the current stabilizers seem flimsy. The movement we are trying to eliminate is the front to back movement.
Also, I thought they were there to help level the trailer. But if you can't lift the trailer with them how do they level it?

Scissor Jacks Where to buy

Ok we are going camping for the first time on April 18th and are trying to get together all the stuff we need. One thing we feel is vital to the trip is scissor jacks. Camping World has a pair for $79.99. Harbor Freight has them for $19.99 each (or $39.98 a pair). My question is what's the difference? Or is there one? These have to be better than the stabilizers that came with the trailer. Do scissor jacks lift the trailer off it's wheels? :h I know rookie questions, but that's me, the rookie. :?

RE: Digitlal converter box hookup

An A/B switch would switch between the 2 signals. You can get them at radio shack for almost nothing.

RE: Wagon's ho!

Perhaps they didn't but I'm sure they like us appreciated good craftmenship, and the difference between a wagon and a TT is that in the wagon you can see whats under it "all" and the TT you have to trust the manufacturer. I agree we have become WAAAY to dependent upon others to do some things we should be able to do ourselves.

RE: Television hookup

Depends on the Television most have a video 1 and a video 2 input then you could hook up a spliter to the batwing signal and hook it to the video 1 input of both televisions and split the cable signal and hook it up to video 2 of both televisions and you would be good to go. Or if they don't have 2 inputs you could hook up an A/B switch, the kind you get a radio shack and that would switch back and forth between the signals. Either way you are probably going to have to put a spliter on both signal sources to split the signal between the televisions.

RE: Do you leave your TT pluged in?

Ours has been plugged in since we picked it up, a month ago. It's our new toy so we are out there everyday doing something even if it is just sitting in it.

RE: Vehicle GPS

We have a Garmin C330 and it just snaps off the base when you aren't using it, or if it gets really good and cold the suction cup comes away from the window.

RE: Cool Mods

Our sat set up.
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z217/RollingRockTX/Camping%2007%20New/sat.jpg
How does that sat. setup work? Do you just put it flat on the ground or do you attach it to the trailer?? We just got sat. to go camping with. Swore we'd never have it since the DH works for the cable company and gets a deep discount. We wanted to take the dish off the side of the house and take it with us since we will NEVER use it at home. Is this feasible?
